Polyurethane (PU) is a very versatile material that is widely used in technical products. Polyurethane combines the mechanical properties of plastic with the elasticity of rubber. Polyurethane is therefore very widely applicable and offers more possibilities than, for example, rubber or plastics.

Properties polyurethane

Polyurethane products have exceptionally high abrasion resistance, good tear resistance, compressive strength and resilience. Polyurethane is also heat resistant and has good chemical resistance. PU is resistant to among other (weak) acids and bases, mineral oils, petrol, grease and various solvents.

PGN: customized solutions in polyurethane

PGN can adjust the properties of polyurethane products through various (chemical) additives. Examples include fire retardants, UV protectors, glass and metal powder, graphite and chalk. This allows a wide variety of material properties: hardness, flexibility, wear resistance, weight and color.

PGN uses 4 different systems of polyurethane in its production. With these systems the majority of the product requests can be handled. For the specials it is also possible to pour polyurethane in FDA quality (suitable for dry and wet food), low density material and with antistatic properties.

MDI-Ester (MDP):

Very good wear properties. Is one of the two standard materials that PGN has in its casting machines. Widely used in anti-wear mats.

MDI-Ether (MTP):

Very cut-resistant material. MTP is cast on customer request. Widely used on cutting rollers.

TDI-Ether (TTP):

High load and good resistance to solvents, acids and oils. Is one of the two standard materials that PGN has in its casting machines. Widely used in heavy industry.

TDI-Ester (TDP):

High load and good resistance to solvents, acids and oils. Is one of the two standard materials that PGN has in its casting machines. Widely used in heavy industry.
